G7: Second Filming Session

• On 6/11/12 Laurence and I spent around an hour in The Pantiles to film some of our narrative. We had our two actors with us to film some of the shots of the couple arguing. We filmed shots of the couple in several areas around the location and used a range of shots including a 360 degree pan.
• The footage we captured will be used in the narrative of our music video along with more footage we plan to film in Dunorlan Park of similar situations. Although the lack of lighting prevented us from filming as much as we were hoping, we managed to capture some footage we are going to include in our music video.
• We had planned to do some filming in Dunorlan Park on this day as well. However, as it got darker earlier than we expected we decided to film in The Pantiles instead as parts of it would have decent lighting. When in The Pantiles, we used areas which were well lit by street lights to ensure that our footage would be of a good enough quality to use in our music video.
• We also had some problems with people passing by and had to re-film some parts as people walked into the shot. Fortunately, this was not as much of a problem as we had expected as we were prepared to position the camera at angles to avoid other people. The main shot this was a problem with was the 360 degree pan around the couple, but because we are planning to use this shot cutting between different locations, we may find that it is not a problem when we begin editing.
• As we had to change location due to the lack of lighting, we realised that on our next outdoor shoot for the narrative we will have to begin earlier in the day to get good quality footage. As increasing the brightness of footage in post production could effect the quality of the shots, we may need to spend two afternoons filming the rest of the narrative to reduce the chance of having to do this. After attempting to film in Dunorlan Park, we know that the lighting will be bad in this location and the Grove Park and will take this into consideration when planning our next filming session.
